REALBRIDES: Tatiana & Rodin

We met in Amsterdam. I had just arrived in the Netherlands for a new job, and my partner was on his way out, moving from Amsterdam to Barcelona. He put his apartment up for rent, and I decided to contact him for a viewing. When I arrived, we started chatting, and there was a mysterious spark. I decided to take a bold leap and gave him my phone number :)

We had a few dates in Amsterdam, but then he moved to Barcelona. After a couple months I decided to visit him in Barcelona, but unfortunately it was in March 2020 - exactly the weekend when Covid officially started in Spain and all the airports started to close down. I had to stay with him in Spain for 3 full months!! It was there where we really got to know each other on another level. Basically, I’ve got to thank Covid for giving us the time to fall in love :-)

He proposed to me on a surprise trip in France in September 2022. It's kind of a funny story: it was in the same castle that we visited together right after Covid back in 2020. At that time, we went for a night walk and decided to make a wish and throw a coin in a well. As we did it, all the lights in the village went out and it was pitch dark! It was a strangely magical moment, and my boyfriend said: "I hope you wished something good, because it will come true." A few years later, he planned a surprised trip to France proposed exactly next to that well :)

I tried many dresses before I eventually chose Otaduy. I felt they are unique, light, playful and feminine. I loved the unique touch that every dress had - so different than the usual heavy bridal dresses. It was important for me that the dress is feminine and unique, but also that I can feel free in it - to be able to move and dance all night. Otaduy was perfect.

Tatiana wore our Lyssandra slip dress paired with our Solaire embroidered overdress.

Our wedding was in Bratislava, Slovakia where I am from. We flew in all of our friends and family and because most of them visited Slovakia for the first time, so we decided to make a full weekend out of it - with a pre-wedding ice-breaker night on Friday, wedding on Saturday and coffee & mimosas on Sunday morning. I remember the day like in a slow motion until the ceremony, and then it started to go very fast! My favorite main memory is our vows at the altar, which were very emotional :)

I still get excited when I think about my wedding day! We had a lot of program - many speeches, dance performances, traditions. I was super happy that I could take off the over-dress during the party and dance with all my friends! Our family and friends all stayed until 3AM and we had a crazy party together :)
